Great build. Overall effect pretty realistic. What figure did you use?

Hello Gents,

Firstly I'd like to thank Brian for putting this feature together and posting it.

Frederick, Mark and Batsaikhan, thank you very much!
Mark, The figure is the tanker that Tamiya supplied with the kit, I converted him with just adding the gas mask, bag for filter can and straps. Brian provided link to the build thread on Armorama above the photos in the feature, there are several photos of the unpainted figure there: Tamiya IS-3 build

Cheers,
Greg

This is one good looking IS-3. You depicted a tank that has been through the ringer and it looks good. I especially like the figure and the tracks. Well done.

Why the "walkaround" moniker? For a model?

Cheers,

Very nice detailing otherwise (especially the external fuel drums) and I love the (front) fenderless look.

Cheers,

Thanks Christophe, I appreciate your comment, especially that figuring out the layout of the air hoses on the fuel cells was a challenge and I'm glad you noticed that detail! Same with figuring out the armor plates layout that had to be replicated once the fenders were removed

I also noticed this walkaround thing, but I guess all it does is a bit of confusion to those that do notice it, perhaps it can still be amended.

Cheers,
Greg
