This is meant to represent a Sherman V of the Three Rivers Regiment, near Regalbuto on Sicily (Hope I got the markings right!). Still a WIP.

John,

That tank is in Olive Drab, right? It looks brown on my monitor, so just checking. The markings look basically fine but unless you have a photo, the squadron markings on the turret were ususally further back at about the midway point. You also are short the WD number on both sides of the rear of the hull.

I was wondering how they would get a 400-500 lb motorbike up on their back deck, until I saw the tankette on the real Sherman and a jeep on a T-34. Wonder how they managed that?

Hi Paul, thanks for the feedback. The tank is OD, I took the pic with my phone. I don't have a picture of the tank, but I used this drawing from "armouredacorn.com" as a guide:

(they're still a bit too far forward)
I didn't get any WD numbers or a name for the tank, but it was from "A" squadron, 3RR.

Does anyone have a close up of the smoke dischargers on the right of the turret?

I've often seen bicycles stowed on Allied vehicles, but never a motorcycle. The unprotected gas tank would be a huge fire hazard if it were hit by a tracer. You don't want burning gasoline sloshing down into the tank's engine compartment. The US Army briefly experimented with carrying scout motorcycles on the engine deck of M2A4 light tanks before the war, and dropped the idea. In the 1980's, the Army considered carrying a scout motorcycle inside the M3 Bradley, but again, dropped it as a fire hazard.

Back to WW2. Some T-34s were fitted with "bedspring" armor, but it looks like a few were fitted with the rest of the furniture (Berlin 1945) :

Interesting mod..."A Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.D makes an unusual mode of transportation for a family of Romanian refugees. A rudimentary roof have been fabricated in the same way as the cart visible in background and a German Zeltbahn waterproof shelter triangle covers the back of the roof. The rain guards on the stowage boxes are a late war addition." (Refugee Camp, Wallern, Czechoslovakia, June 18, 1945) :

His artwork, though, is only as complete as the photos he's based them off so in this case he must not have been able to see the WD number. You _can_ have a tank without a name (although if one tank has a name beginning with the squadron letter, you can bet they almost all did) but you can not have a tank without a WD number. Even if you completely make it up, ya gotta have a WD number in three places on the tank OR dirty it up so much that the normal locations for the number are all covered with something opague.

No way around it. All tanks had the WD number. :-)

Frenchy, you must be the pack rat of pictures! You seem to have a load of pictures that fit any request. Thanks for always sharing with us

Paul, I found some white transfers with individual letters and numbers so I fabricated a WD number: T140243. Thanks for the heads up!

Here's another I just ran across:

The caption was:
