Hello all
I was applying old decals to a kit today and the silvering has failed to disappear several hours after I completed the process.
I applied Micro Set on the area before sliding on the decal, then a tiny amount of Micro Sol on top afterwards before drying the whole area with a swob. I had not glossed the surface before starting the process.
is there anything I can do to reacue this? I'm going to wait until tomorrow before the next move at least.
Thank you all!

Welcome to the world of decals. Sometimes they just don't work well. I would recommend using a different gloss. Tamiya clear works very well. Also, I have nothing good to say about micro set or sol. I recommend solvaset.
If you cannot live with the way your decals look, remove them. You can do this with strong tape or fine grit sand paper. If at first you don't succeed, get new products and try again

That will be where the problem lies. No amount of decal setting solution will stop slivering if you place them on a matt surface.

Thanks for the messages and tips, lads.
I think the pigments are gonna be out in force on this kit!
Well, lesson learned anyway.
Many thanks again!

So, to gloss up the kit... Airbrush on a few layers of X22 Clear/X20A Thinner in a 50/50 ratio?
Then apply decals
What do I spray on after to regain the Matt finish again?
Thanks y'all!
