Can someone tell me what that box is on top of the right trail? I shot the 198 up until 1998 and we did not have that thing!

No, not the elbow telescope. I'm talking about the box in the right tire's foreground.

Rod ,,, after a little bit of hunting i have the answer for you ..that box sitting on top of the right trail is a battery box .
It contains the batteries to power the HIPE kit .
