I had a nightmare putting the howitzer together. I'm a pretty poor model builder at the best of times but this kit from Vulcan tested me. It's a lovely kit but the instructions left me baffled and my clumsy fingers didnt cope well with the little pieces.

The groundwork will eventually have grass added plus the detritus of war. The aim is to show a gun of the RA with it's wounded crew taking on an unseen KingTiger over open sights (Mon, 25th Sept 1944).

This, like so many of your works that you've given us a preview of,is a really cool idea. Great start to the project as well.
If you don't mind,I would suggest you change the position of the guys' head that is kneeling. Remove a bit of neck and place his noggin straight up with line of sight parallel with the ground. Most humans keep their heads level like this and it is a very very common mistake with modelers to go with the bent neck thing when they modify a pose.
If Romain is looking(he never sleeps) he may chime in.
Always try to put your own body in the pose you are trying to portray to see if it"works" or even better, take a quick pic of some one else in that pose to use as a ref.
I know I know,talk is cheap.

Cheers mate, this is the type of feedback I'm hoping for. I'll see what I can do with the head.
As for the other dios, I had a bit of a drama yesterday when I dropped my oosterbeek house/ aid station. Lots of damage but hopefully all repairable.

The first time I put together one of those howitzers I was ready to scream. Now that you know its' quirks your next one will be a whole lot easier, I've done my third recently and it wasn't so bad at all got it built in two sittings. As always, your figures are looking good thus far. Looking forward to seeing this progress!

I'm here and I can only agree with Jerry about the neck!

Today's possibility to have a quick mobile photo should be extensively used!

I had my wife take photos of me for part of the artwork I produced years ago, and have never stopped since.

Good luck with the vignette!!

Cheers

Just added more plaster to the front to build up the height of the ground level. Rather than cut and adjust the loaders head I'm searching through the spares box to find a more suitable face. Something grim and determined.
