I actually completed my first model in 4 years...
The basis is the ancient Italeri Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.H with lots of extra's from the scrapbox.

You can read the whole story here; Italeri's Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.H

Gunpowderresidue on flashsupressor and next to the m.g.

You did a pretty nice job overall, Ron. The only area I have to question is the snow around the mufflers. Try as I might I can't come up with a plausible scenario to explain the way it's been shown.

Mufflers generate heat... I would think it would have 0 snow on it?
The way the snow is depicted living up here near the Canadian Arctic lol the snow on the bottom half of the tank is of the blizzard type...it would be the same on/around the turret. Snow of this type is "heavy & sticky", builds up quickly usually blowing from one direction. Maybe add a shovel on top of the turret & put lil piles of snow on the top lower of tank? if the tank is moving..there would be no snow build up on the tracks.
I would suggest a stationary position adding a shovel on top of turret as if the crew man just cleaned it off.

PS- Nice job..reminds me of today outside in Ontario Canada ..snow!

Thanks, there's one explanation for it; sloppy job around the edges.
I'll fix it.

BTW most of the white is the white paint with rust and heat showing through.

I assumed that was the case. There are two other areas I have problems with. The first is the back plate of the hull, just above the main muffler. There's very little snow on the upper portion of that plate, but it managed to build up right next to the muffler? The other is the secondary muffler to the left of the main. I suppose it's possible that, for some reason, the power traverse system isn't working.

I know most "snow" on the market is near impossible to work with after it's dried. I wouldn't worry too much about my comments. Most people would never even notice what I mentioned. I just offer them as food for thought for future excursions into winter.....like anyone from the southern US should be offering winter hints to someone in Sweden!

David, I think I'll respectfully disagree with you on that point. Plenty of photos and first-hand experience to the contrary.

Ron, great looking project. What did you use for the snow?

Thanks folks!
Hi David, maybe I should have been more careful with the crossbars on the tracks to leave them exposed, but otherwise snow will cake on... At least the not powder dry version of it.
Well Bob, that's the whole point of showing stuff here, isn't it? So others can comment and offer tips and suggestions? It is for me anyway.
