A "raised" Humvee is not too far-fetched what-if idea Tom. Oshkosh did propose one previously:

Are you gonna go with the stock tires or maybe you could find a resin set made for a MaxPro or something?

I'm sure if you ask nice on here someone who has done an M-ATV, Maax-Pro or one of the new trucks and got the resin wheel sets for there build, would be willing to part with the origional kit wheels & vinal tyres. Folks around here are nice like that. Being raised it really needs the larger wheels....

Seats done, set them in to see how the new & improved version fits. AC duct in too.
Radio... almost there (currently up to 27 parts - LoL)...
I haven't been on the site for awhile after we moved. So probably a lot of folks don't know this is about 6 months of work at my normal, glacial pace of building !

Pretty good job on the SINCGARS. The radio itself is too long though. It should be flush with the front of the mount.

Gino, You are spot on w/ that. Now I look at it - I set the radio out where the grab handles should be...
I tried to pull it apart but NoGo, so now it's the "new & improved" version.

Thanks Stephen - I did see yours (OUTSTANDING by the way) and it was a big inspiration & motivator for me to get off my butt and build...
Mine is mild compared to all the work you did.
I'm having trouble finding the right sized / look for the wheels.
Any suggestions?

Not full wheels, these are just "skins" for the existing parts. The ID of this fits over the OD of the kit wheels. Little super glue, little putty = new bigger, fatter, manly wheel ! LoL
This went against all (self-emposed) rules for this build (to spend any money)! But got to have wheels...
Due in the 12th +/-. My first 3D Printed Part - hope it does not suck.

Assuming that I could figure out how to create the necessary computer file using my CAD program, might I ask what it costs (approximately) to run off four of these parts?

If you ordered them in anything other than "polished", Frosted detail or Frosted ultra detail, they'll have a grainy appearance which paint may or may not help.
I've only been making parts available in the FD and FUD in my Shapeways store unless the item is larger.

Great build so far... yea the wheels i used on mine were from A M923 Resin set i had spare. If your printed parts fit ok they should look the part...should be able to keep the HUMVEE wheel detail as well.

Why - It's actually not that high (24 - 30 scale inches to the door frame).
Michael - five were just shy of $18 (including shipping).
Matt - I got Super Strong & Flexible (polished). Any good? I have a backup plan if there not smooth...

FYI - This process to build up wheel size was not the greatest idea. Took forever, did not save any money, looks OK... Was an experiment - would NOT do it again.
