So Mr. Hoenig's Hurtgen Forest diorama inspired me to go for a small one a while back. It's just a small scouting party waiting to greet a Sherman coming down a road. More than anything I wanted to get creative with all the diorama products I've got building up.

It began like this...

Looks like my back yard at that stage. I used a very thick dose of the Scenic Factory's bark texture powder to help fix this tree to the base, and yanno what? It worked perfectly.

And I've been fussing with the four figures at the same time. 2 from the "Eastern Front Tank Hunters" Gen2 set, and the others from the old "Winter's Onset" kit. All were given Hornet heads, except the prone guy with the panzerschreck round, who got an Alpine head.

The Alliance PE watch is still a bit rough, nothing I can't fix though. It's a shame that head will be masked behind the shield.

Then these two...

My issue with them is that the guy who's posed more upright's eyes are uneven, and that my pigments dried too light, which I gotta fix still.

Thanks for looking! Over to you guys now.

Your groundwork has come a long way that's for certain. You and I owe a lot to Mr Hoenig on that front.
The figs are coming along nicely and from your comments you are self-correcting. Always a good thing. I love the Panzerschrek guy wearing his hat backwards. Very realistic.
Don't know about the guy with the MP44. I would like to see his head more upright? Kind of looks un-natural like this?

Hi Conor,

Jerry is absolutely right! Your terrain has improved a huge lot...and John has helped apparently! Good man!!!

Is it the camera+lighting or what, but the figgies are shiny again! It could be the photo though!!

Anyway, those uniforms and greatcoats must be 100% matt!! Wool does not look that way!

What light source are you using?? It would be interesting to know!!

Reversed cap, super idea BTW!

Overall well done Sir!!! Congratulations!!

Cheers

Romain

Well , if i look at those figures i can see that you have almost the same excellent style as Jerry. I mean the same kind of expression and yes that's also because of the Hornet heads but i really do mean the postures of the soldiers .

Very nicely done Conor , waiting to see more !
