I don't think Russia or Georgia ever fielded the BTR-70 during the 2008 war. There were plenty of T-72s, BTR-80s, BMP-1s BMP-2s, BMD-2s and even T-62s (you can find plenty of photos of them rumbling down the Georgian Military Highway), but I don't recall ever seeing BTR-70s.
