I am going to start this kit next for the AGE campaign, is there anything I should eb aware of? Bad fit problems, or something else that could hinder construction.
Thanks!
~Chip :-)

hey chip,
its a good kit, the detail is a little simplified in places, but its an old kit.
the fit is great, you should have no problems.
the only real problem with the kit is the tracks. they are the old kind designed for motorisation, so are thick and not very well detailed.
if i were you id swap them for fruils, thats what im gonna do with my second one ive got waiting on the shelf.
overall though its great,
cheers

Hi chip
I'll second everything that Joe has said.I purchased the Churchill Crocodile kit on New years Eve for something to do while i was on holiday with my family and by the following evening the tank itself was nearly done OOB.I've encountered no problems with fit or assembly and I'm looking for another crocodile kit so I can build a MK VII.

I suppose you know there are two Tamiya Churchills? The crocodile one that Stormbringer mentioned, and a re-release that doesn't have the flame throwers trailer but does have extra figures and a civilian, probably French, farmer with a cart and some bottles and such. Being as there are so few British figures out there I think the re-release is pretty good kit also.

I was looking at the MKVII Churchill kit in the hobby shop but decided on the crocodile for the simple reason that it was £6 (approx $10) cheaper and I didn't want the farmer figure etc.
Regards

Both the Croc and the Mark VII by Tamiya (Both the Same Moulds) are good kits and with work are real Jewels! I have a MK VII, Croc, MK III , ARK, and an AVRE all based on this kit(s) and I am very happy with the results! Of course some needed more work than others but conversions work that way? Have a Good Build I think you will enjoy it!

Howdy chip,
Definitely a good kit, you'll be impressed with the sheer size of the Church! Also, go for the Fruil's, you wont be sorry. And lastly (this to beachbm2), since you've built so many Church's....have you built a 'Black Prince'?

I gotta say, it's kind of sad seeing most of the "new" releases these days are the old Tamiya stuff being recycled. I say this mainly due to the fact that the kits were great back in the day, but lack the quality of today's kit standards... That being said, it IS good to see the Churchill still out. Now THAT's a kit I would love ta pick up!!
Are there any or many conversion kits for the Churchill...? I would love to do an earlier version as well as the AVRE version.
Thanks, amigos!
Aloha,
Johnny B.

Cromwell Model will release some Churhill kits, among them an AVRE. I have place an advance order for 2 AVRE. If you're interested, email to Gordon and ask about the details, as these are not listed on his web site.
