Hi all

Just for anyone who has interesting, here is my latest commissioned work for a friend.
Τo catch some judges of the non-lifelike clean space, I must say my friend is going to put a German 88 Flak with its crew, from his ready made soldiers collection at 1:32 scale.
This is the reason of the big empty room as in reality shouldn't be.

So, enjoy some images from the beginning to the complete diorama.

The idea.

The construction has started.

BTW, this post should had the title I hate MiniArt but also I love MiniArt

This is happen as the MiniArt vacuum kits for buildings make me nervous (at least) when I have to fit the opposite parts
Also when they have so many "blackheads", and when I try to remove them, they are leaving ...holes
May be some of you have the same issues and feelings, maybe some others don’t have problem at all.
But at the other hand, I love MiniArt for the very useful buildings it offers, for their light weigh, for its accessories, for its figures and models, for all the other except the vacuum fit and the blackheads!

So, here is a solution I use to do that overrun both of these two issues - in most.
I use a ready made mix of plaster, that used to cover brick walls. It has already some kind of glue in it, and only needs water to do its job.
But instead of water I usually add very diluted white glue. I cover almost all the surface of the building, everywhere, and when it hardens, I brush the most of this material, leaving only what I want to cover the "flaws"

Take a look at some images of this progress.
With plaster on the building:

After its removal.

And here is after the painting and the first layer of oil whashes, before a second one and finally the pigments.

So, it continues... but ends soon to catch the holidays

PS: My apologies for my bad English

The end result is very nice. I love the colors you used. I would add a lot more rubble though. I think it looks too clean?

I keep thinking I've given up with Miniart buildings then I see something like this and it inspires me to crack on and have another go. Top class textures and painting.

Thanks for all kind words
A small note: of course it is "oil washes" and not "oil whashes" as I wrote, but the edit is not working anymore

@ Paul,
Yes, give them (the MiniArt blackheads and not-fit-well vacuum buildings) a try.
It worths, if you spent some time at the construction the result will nevertheless indemnify your time.

Here is another example of my trick with the building industry plaster
It just works - for me.

Regarding this factory ruin from the same company, its a great kit and I'll be back soon extensively at another topic

hi Dimitris
very beautifull work and nice colours, but i love more the title "εμπορικον ".. the coffee "παπαγαλος" and of course the very very old with no filter cigarettes "sante"
What would you say about more debris ? (an entire building has fallen)
cheers

Nice work on the building! You could pile up more debris in front where the Germans would have cleared a space for themselves and the gun, and to provide a shield and some camo effect for the gun.

Hi again, thanks for your comments.

@ Dimitris
Yes, I know "an entire building has fallen", but as I wrote before, this dio is a special case. It is going to be use for some ready made metal flack and figures, and they need this big empty space - actually these are near 1:30 scale...

@ Biggles2
Thanks for the suggestion.

There may be weaknesses and flaws....but the overall effect as "setting" for a model is absolutely superb!!

Warm palette, good details, hints of credible rubble....everything fits!

This is not a dio, this is a stage! And as such it is perfect IMHO!!

Well done Sir!!! Bravo!

Cheers

Romain
