Are there any semi-arid landscape foliage available in 1/35 scale .I don't think regular static grass is tall and thick enough. what I have in mind is like a dried a maize or corn plant but wild,

Busch Modellspielwaren fom Germany has an interesting range of small plants in HO scale. Maybe some of the could be "coverted"
into African plants.

A good option is the use of plastic plants, which are sold in animal or aquarium shops. Cheap and a lot of choise.
