Hi folks,
Another interesting development in the Resicast range of WW1 artillery for you. George Moore is currently working on the British 9.2 inch Howitzer. My understanding at this point in time is that the kit will have optional fire and transport finishes which should make for another really interesting piece of WW1 artillery to add to the growing range of available kits.
Some in-progress pictures:

Hi Robin,
More great work from George Moore, as a towed weapon this will certainly make for an impressive display. The firing option should do too.
Thanks for looking in, though I was posting to myself again lol.
Cheers

Maybe the others are quiet because they are stunned
Maybe 'Rumour Control' in the topic heading doesn't quite
convey the message that it is about a kit to be released
for REAL, not an attempt to stop some rumour or other
/ Robin
Could this piece of equipment be part of the development
leading up to the Australian road trains of presnt days ?
One tractor followed by three trailers ??

Hi Robin,
I don't think the title would make much difference. On many topics people only seem to comment when they have something to complain about, and you see that across the board.
The test shots look good and there will be a news article when the kit is listed for production.
Rumour Control is a heading I've been using for many years when I have snippets of things to come or WIP pics - it has a long history which I won't bore you with .
Like the rest of the Resicast WW1 kits & Artillery this should make for an excellent display.
Cheers

Missed this first time through.
Looks fricken awsome! WWI arty isn't really my thing, but one of these emplaced for firing would be pretty darned impressive!
Any idea if George will be making a few rounds of ammo for the firing configuration?

Hi Paul,
George/Resicast made ammo sets for the 18pdr, 6 inch and 8 inch howitzers, so my guess would be yes as the kit can be built either in towed or firing format.
I'll ask though. As a GS wagon is in the pipe line too I would think a load quite possible.
Cheers

Hmm, a sort of UK answer to the Skoda. Certainly would make an impressive road train. Thanks for the info Al. I'm getting more and more interested in this WWI stuff. I have the FT17 and Saint Chamond built and am currently working on the Takom Mk IV...oh and an A7V is on its way....:-)

Hi Steve,
Lots of good new 1/35 scale WW1 stuff coming along. I have the MkIV (Male/Female) Takom kits to build having already done the Tamiya Mk IV which was fun. Artillery wise I still have the 8" howitzer and 18pdr to build and I have the 60pdr on order, so plenty to keep me busy.
The new infantry sets from Tamiya and ICM are most welcome although I hope they do some generic figure sets too and some British/German Cavalry.
Cheers

I like it, and would probably buy it. I'm a fan of all artillery subjects, but WWI is definitely under-represented.
My one comment is this: Those rivets look fairly...muted.
It looks as if possibly dry transfers were used. For this I think it may be better to use Grandt Line rivets.

I used Archer rivets, difficult to get the exact size.....doing that number of rivets by hand and accurately would have driven me mad....count them.....I normally used punched metal (pewter) applied with Klear.....but this one has so many......if you think you could do it better, I'll send you the dimensions and photo's.

Hi Alan,
Interesting build indeed! Is this a subtle introduction to another of your epic WWI dio builds....? Hmm....I hope so! Nice kit too...

Hi Nick,
Towed or in placement it would make for an interesting scene.
George also has a GS wagon in progress and I believe some horses are being developed. Well something had to carry the ammo, although small wagons on tracks would work well lol. I'd need more space though!
A couple of pic of the WIP GS Wagon.
Cheers
