Got a "rookie" question for all of you veterans....what is a pin vice?
I know the topic is paint booths, so on to my next question. Most of you pros talk about paint booths (I'm sure this would prevent much griping from the spouse), are these store bought, or home made? If bought, where, if built, how??
Thanks for your insight in advance!

Hi baronjj
Welcome Aboard
A pin vise is a small hand tool with a chuck (like a drill) for holding small drill bits. It's used as a hand tool for drilling small holes, and is not powered.
Hope this helps!

OK tek took care of the pin vise question....I will do the paintbooth question.
Yes your spouce would love you for having a paint booth...keeps the fumes out of the house.
There are 2 ways to go about it....go to someplace like Micro-Mark or other retailers and buy a paint booth....going to run you $300-$500 depending on the size.
OR
If you are mechanically inclined...(well not really anyone can build one!! ), get your self a range hood...like you would find over most kitchen stoves....take this. and build a frame out of MDF board that you can find at your local Home Depot or whereever you shop, build the 2 sides the back and a floor out of it, same size as the range hood....attach the range hood...and viola....paint booth.
Now you can add other things to it as well...lights...I use a flourescent drop light I bought from an automotive place, you can also go get some small furnace filters and put it between the work space and the fan in the range hood. Get some dryer hose, used to take the air from a dryer outside....put that on the fan extraction and you take the paint fumes away from your work space....stick it out a window, or whatever.
Viola....one paint booth....and depending on how much you can get the range hood for, with the materials and such....less than $100. And basically a paintbooth made to the size you want...and not the small ones they are selling for retail!!
