Anyone know of any decent pics or drawings of the idler wheel adjustment mechanism for a T54 - something good enough to utilise to scratch build the omitted parts on the Tamiya (T55) kit? I'm building an early Tiran 4,

Cheers

T-62 schematic here, not sure how similar they are http://www.dishmodels.ru/wshow.htm?np=1&p=1762&vmode=T#blockpre

Thanks for the replies chaps. From what I can ascertain, the T54 had two idler adjustment mechanisms - one each side - whereas later models had just the one. Anyone who is more experienced with the world of the T54/55 confirm this?

I don't think that's a T54 though....

Nope, it's a T-55AM from East Germany.

Are you saying T-54s had another screw adjuster in front of the mount?

From dishmodel

I had no idea the track tension adjustment was different between the 54 and 55. Did 54's rebuilt to 55 standard retain this setup??

Hi,
the arrangement was different between T-54 and 55. I haven't images just now, but I remember to have done some research many years ago.
What we see on the sectioned tank is of T-55, more or less similar to that of T-62, while the one of T-54 can be seen on the photos of Dishmodel, and resembles to the piece of the T-55 kit of Esci. It has two large screws, one forward and one behind the brace, and has the look of an old camera.
Regards
Massimo
