Friends,
it has been a while since I gave you an update on my progress..... it's a slow progress, but I love the results so far.....
Below you can see a bit of the corner of my room...a room that was used to store coales before Urquhart and his men moved in... More updates to follow soon.

ohhhhhh - VERY NICE. I absolutely LOVE the lighting. I just thought though - you are going to roof this in aren't you. The long shadows give it a very natual 'basement' feel.
A bit of pastels as coal dust and that will be awsome.

Danny, I hope you make this into an article once the project is finished. I would love to see it from start to finish as a pictorial.

Well, Eagle, talk about a romantic rendevouz.........
Dim lit lights, food and an enchanted athmosphere....
Like the door, but miss the lock parts.
However, are these types of handles common in WWII Holland? I thought the US was the land of the round handles?

Fantastic wall textures Danny - and iIagree with the sentiment expressed above... this would make an excellent feature article.

Is that going to be, for lack of a better term, an open diorama or one of those shadowboxes? Details look great. I like the nails on the floor planking

Looking at it you think that youre in a real basement !!!!! i like very much the floor construction the wall texture and of course the door. Just to ask if a coal storage room should be more dirtier and coal dusted and not so neat , but i believe youll fill up this with pastels and stuff like that . Nice job .The whole construction should absolutely be an article

Friends,
this is gonna be a shadowbox.
About the dirt, you're absolutely right that it is far too clean. This is because I haven't started weathering and dusting at this stage. I'm still occupied with all kinds of details. After that I'll cover the room with dust
From the reations I can tell that people will be interested to see more pics. I'll try to shoot some in-progress pics during the weekend and post them over here.
A Feature article will see the light of day mid March..... it will be a extensive coverage of the diorama and the history behind it..... keep an eye out for it.... it will be a professional looking complete feature if I can help it !
