Hi Gang,
maybe this is not the right DG for this, but when I watched a TV show from the late 1970`s I saw a model/toy of an M551/Scimitar combo for 12 inch action figures. The background for this question is the following: Back in the 1970`s the were two competiting action figures series in Germany. One was the well know Big Jim from I believe Mattel(?). The other series was called "Action Team" from a company or distributor called "Schildkröt". Interestingly my best friend owned a 1/6 scale toy tank, which was a combination of a M551 Sherdian tank hull with a Sciitar turret. Nevertehless to say I was very envious about my friend to have such a cool toy. I believe the tank was made in China but I did know the manufacturer. Maybe some of the older guys here can point me a way?
Thanks
Hans-Hermann

I think they are the same that I used to know as GEYPER-MAN. In fact I owned a few of them inCluding a couple of vehicles. If I recall correctly those were a helicopter and a Land Rover. In my parent's house there should still be a couple of the action figures plus the car. And I know people of my age, mid forties, that look eagerly for them. One of the best known model shops in Madrid, very now and then resells them. I don't know where they get them. Anyway you opened the trip down memory lane that you talked in the title. Fröhe Weinhachten ( hope I spelled it correctly)

Hello Hans,

Hasbro was the maker. This was Germany's version of G.I. Joe back in 1975, with a bit more paramilitary flavor.
Collector items now.
HTH.

See ya in the funnies...............

It also looks like what was known as "Action Man" here in the uk,i actually had the tank when I was 8 or 9.The only problem I can remember is the thing had such a tendency to throw its tracks I ended up leaving them off,in the end it got binned when a so called mate tried to use it as a ride on go-cart and buckled all the wheels !.

I remember them well- I had a 6-swheeler (? based on a Saladin hull but with A CVR(T) type turret-_ . Luckily, the wheels stood up to quite a bit of go carting before it all went squiffy

I remember they had a Ferret scout car with a quite crappy Browning .30 cal. M1919 m.g..I later replaced it with a .50 cal Gatling gun that was sold seperatly. Oh gloryful youth!!!
Of course I used the Ferret like a Go-Kart.

Found a clip of the show I saw yesterday on YouTube.
Take note of the 1/6 scale tanks in the back of the saleswoman.
