Hi all,are you able to say me which model is the helmet used in the Evolution miniatures em-350104

http://www.evolution-miniatures.com/35/

Is it the M68 type?!(Tank produces an M68 Modern russian helmet [code A-92])

The Ess goggle (covered) are the same that I can get in the live resin range?Or are they different?

Regards

Hi Ciro- the figure you are referring to does not wear the M68 helmet, these are not used much (if at all) now. The Russians have a few different modern helmets that offer better ballistic protection than the old M68. That figure is possibly wearing the 6b7-1M but I'm not 100% certain- the Russians do use some other helmets and I'm not sure of their names. In terms of the goggles worn by the Russians they are similar to some of the variety produced by Live Resin so I would say you could use their products no problem.

Hope this helps !

Thank you Karl!
I like this figure...so I would buy one but I would modify the head...I've asked about the helmet for that.
Do you know if I can get on the market some helmets(or accessory set) suitable to "upgrade/Modify" this figure?!

Cheers and Thank you Again!!!

Hi Ciro,
It looks like it's called a P7, produced by NII Stali, according to "Russian Helmets" by Robert W. Clawson.

Thank you Sean....I've added this to the "search" list....unfortunately it looks that there's not an accessory set with these type of gear...

Sean- thanks for that info.

Ciro- I've never seen a set of helmets of this type for Russian figures unfortunately.
If you are good at sculpting you could try and make one.

You are most welcome. I also purchased this Evolution Model figure and am in the process of painting. Excellent resin figure with much detail including separate knife handle. I highly recommend this. Good canvas Gorka-3 references are found on eBay as well. Good luck and please post photos.

ok. My figure is very much a work in progress. I apologize for my poor camera photography and painting skills, but the resin figure is worth the price and quite fun. Thank you for your interest.

Thank you Ciro. You are very kind. Yes the AK-74M is attached to both closed hands and it would be difficult to replace. I think even the aftermarket AK-74M from the Dragon Quartermaster Series AK-47 / 74 Weapons Part 2 Model Kit may look better, but it would be difficult to cut the rifle up to match to the hands. One arm has a large wrist watch as well to match to the hands. The hands have "fingerless" gloves. My wife laughs when I say that I am looking for the figure of the girl in the last photo.

:-) Good to know about the look of the Ak...I've have had the sensation that it wasn't so good as the figure.Maybe I could replace the "hands" with the Live resin product...I only wait that the parcel arrive...and then try to do something.I leave you a link of a finished figure that I've spotted on the net...

Cheers

Ciro

Thank you for the kind words Karl. I wish more folks would try these figures. The quality of the castings is excellent and would like to see more like it from Evolution Models.

Ciro- The black Gorka outfit shown in your link is most unusual. I wonder who the soldier was and where that photo was taken? Inspires me to try another figure! Will be following your aftermarket modifications.

All the best and Happy New Year

Hi all,
Amoz02t...well from what I've get on google there are different gorka-3 camouflages...most of them are from airsoft gear so I've some doubts.I was thinking that the "dark Gorka" in the link could be a "wet" Gorka...but I don't know,it's difficult to say from that photo...and if Gorka is part of mountain gear...it should be rain resistant..or not?
About my figure, basically I would modify the head with new (or modified helmet) and I want to add the Ess goggles over the eyes..change the Ak with a Vintorez and put the whole thing in a little base with snow...

Happy 2015 Ciro!

Thank you for your nice comments and interest. I have always used a mix of brands and colors. For the digital green camo used 4 Master Model enamels ...Medium Green, Pale Green, Black, and Medium Brown. The medium green and black are mixed to get contrast with the pale green. The Gorka tan is done with Vallejo acrylic Panzer tan paints mixed for shading. I use tan/sand acrylics so that the tan colors would not fade together with the green or gray enamel areas. While the reinforced areas of the Gorka in grays are also enamel so to not blend into the tan areas. I mostly use Master Model enamels, but mix on a pallet to match photos as I can. Hope this helps. Mostly have fun!
