I got the Trumpeter SA-2 kit from Santa, and would like to build it in Egyptian service during the Yom Kippur War. I found these variants on camouflage, but don't know if they are typical or from a later period?

Hi Bill;
The SA-2 was in camo; during the first phase of the War, Tan with Brown Splotches as seen in your Pics. As the war dragged on and the Arabs started running short of supplies the Missiles were sent in non-camo paint scemes and sent Directly too the SAM Batteries, they could be found in the Grey color and also in Semi-gloss White !!
CHEERS; MIKE.

Sort of off topic. I have the same kit in my stash along with the kit of the SA-2 on the truck/carrier. I have been thinking of doing mine but in North Vietnam camo colors late 60's early 70's. Any suggestions ? Though these kits are deep in my stash I never miss an opportunity to dig up any references just in case. You never know, one day it just might show up on the bench
Cheers

Here are some NVA SAM-2 missiles :
Not sure these schemes are accurate or if some guys at the museum had too much free time on their hands...

I had many issues with decals : numbers on the sheet are different from those on instructions...
Most of the decals broke in 2 or 3 parts when I tried to apply them...
Have you guys had the same probs?

The quality's rather poor, but you can see the ZiL-157 tractor in 2-tone (or maybe 3-tone...) camo :
This picture was published by a French magazine in December 1973 the colors look weird if you ask me, almost like a colorized picture...:
