The P1000/Maus size comparison on one of the drawings gives a pretty good idea, doesn't it?

But then I have some stuff in 1/144, might be more difficult for others.

No idea really but a 1/144 figure I have measures 13mm tall which would make the main body 85mm H x 117mm W x 295mm L just by scaling the photo. Pre-order cost is $45.95

Hypothetical measurements are 39 m (128 ft.)long and 14 m (46ft.)wide. Makes 270 mm (10.6 inch)long and 97 mm (3.8 inch)wide.

Yikes!! That's about as big as a 1/35 King Tiger! Sounds like fun! Now, how could I combine that with a Revell U-boat, and an Eduard JU-52 with pontoons?

I think I'll modify the display I have designed for two Karl Morsers (rail and ground), a Leopold, and a Dora at that scale. Probably keep the rail weapons together now and put the P-1000 together with the ground Karl and Maus on another base. Hope my eyes hold out that long.

Use as a mobile coastal battery on the English channel or near a U-Boat bunker.

I am just wondering, had they actually built even one of these-- how many panthers, Panzer IVs, or other things, would not have been built. How many King Tigers would be commensurate with the materials comprised by one of these?

Hitler was known for going big. I could easily see production from several factories being devoted to this. However, you can compare it to the Dora. Only one was built.

Given the nominal mass of 1000 tons versus 70 for a Tiger II, you're looking at 14 1/4 Tiger IIs, not so many, really.
Of course, then there would be the nearly infinite cost of the special infrastructure needed to manufacture these things: cranes, factories, rolling mills, forges, etc.
Speer was totally sensible in cancelling these things the instant he could.
As for diorama ideas, you could could place it mired in the banks of a river with 20 or 30 FAMOS trying to pull it out??? That would tell the entire story of this stupid idea in one scene.

Or you could build them and pose them being looked at by a group of 1/6 scale figures like it's a model.

What about a Bergeratte? No turret and a massive recovery spade.
Maybe these monsters would been only stationed around the Reichskanzlei in Berlin for protecting the Führer?

Why bother? Just stick der Fuhrer into one of these and he's bullet-proof!

How much of the city would you have to knock down to get it there?

When I first read this I thought 1/35 scale and was about to fall out of my chair to just think of the price and size like the earlier Dora rail gun kit but to see it is only 1/144 at least I can be able to handle that

Of course, it would have been build in sub assemblies and then assembled in front of the Reichskanzlei. But before that, they have to build an 8 foot thick concrete plate.
