Hi Gang,
after finishing my AuF-1 from Meng, I think about another French vehicle. I think about the AMX-30 Pluton. Sure that the Meng kit is way better. But since I need only the lower hull/suspension and the engine deck, the Heller kit might be an option.
What are your thought about that?
TIA

Do you have the Terre Modèles Pluton conversion? It's now long OOP.

It was designed for the Heller kit, so I'll use the Heller kit for mine, along with aftermarket tracks.

Cheers,

Christophe

Hi Christophe,
I have heard of Terre Modeles but never saw it in a shop or online. Did they had a good quality? Otherwise, I plan to do a scratchbuild on the Heller hull.

The suspension on the Heller kit is a painful experience ...
Almost everything has a loose fit so it is something of a
challenge to get everything lined up and straight.
I presume that you will replace the tracks (they are horrible ....)

It's OK. Found this pic online.

I doubt you'll be able to find one or if you can prices will be much inflated (more than 200/300 euros, it used to sell for around 100 euros initially).

Cheers,

Christophe

I build the M9 Armored Combat Earthmover complete from scratch, so I don`t fear of a Heller kit.

Most of the Heller AMX-30's problems are on the upper hull, so the chassis should work fine. And the kit's vinyl tracks are pretty poor, but there are aftermarket replacements available.
