Hi all! I'm looking for reference photos and info on the US sherman tanks used in Africa (by the US). It seems the tanks used were primarily M1A1. I haven't been able to detect any special measures taken to cover screens or grilles.

Any input or pics would be a great help.

The majority of the few pics I've seen of US Shermans in Tunisia were of early M4A1's with M3 suspension and direct vision blocks - like Monogram's Screaming Mimi kit. Plus a few early welded hull M4s.
Don't recall any Shermies with special screens over anything, Pacific Shermans aside.
