Hi

I'm about to start the Dragon tiger late production w/zimmerit, I'm combining this with their 3 in 1 late model that they did w/o zimmerit as I ruined the model trying to do my own zimmerit but still have all the upgrade parts as well as some fluri tracks that I had for another failed tiger

What I'm looking for is an actual tank to depict and I would prefer it to be a one that was in Russia not Normandy, I was hoping to go for an aged whitewash so something in late winter 44/45. Has anyone got any pics of such a tank or any ideas on the best place to view such pics?

Many thanks

Wouldn't the Tiger be of Early or Mid production fighting in Russia? Not Late?

This is a situation where your going to have to do the work & research. There's tons of pictures on the net.
Picture below is of whitewash...is not 223

I think the German forces were driven out of Russia in the middle of 1944, so that would make your request impossible?

I see, of course they were out of Russia in the winter, I did see that Tony Greenland had a steel wheeled tiger with a whitewash in his masterclass book and was wondering where it came from.

So I'm guessing most of the steel wheeled ones were based in Normandy or at least would have featured the 3 colour camo, did any make it to the Ardenes offensive or were the tiger 1's mostly gone by then?

Could anyone recommend a good book on the tiger and variants?

Thanks

Plenty of whitewashed Late Tigers existed in Poland, the Baltics, and so forth...

You should check the various unit histories in Wikipedia, and pick photos from TIIF.DE

Should not be a problem to find a late Tiger with whitewash on the Eastern front.

As noted above the Tiger im Focus site is the place to go.
