I just got back into model making after a very long hiatis. And have decided to do a 251/1 Auf. D with some infantry. I plan on doing the infantry as SS. Does anyone know of any posts or links to some good photos or what paints (color and company) I can use?

Try the figure painting articles on missing links
Very good articles there from face painting, camo, and weathering figures! Its a good start, but feel free to ask specific questions. Every modeller here uses different mediums and has different styles, so you will get a lot of different answers.
If you do a search of the threads in the figure section you will find lots of threads about figure painting also. Some good step by steps by anders Heintz and links to painting figures by Vince Vai(?) among others!

Another place to look over on Missing Links , is in the figures discussion group , http://www.missing-lynx.com/ , then click on the discussion groups , then scroll down for figures.
Just remember that not posting your whole name there is NOT an option no matter what the boilerplate N54 headings say.
Also use the search feature and poke around a bit, there are a lot of great answers in the archives.
The biggest help to me, and I am not a museum quality , pro selling stuff on ebay kind of builder, is that colors varied due to manufacturering differences, wear, dirt, and available light.
So if it looks right, and is not highlighter yellow, neon pink, and powder blue,. it probably is.
In the past I used the Tamiya paint numbers from the 251/D instructions and/or the Front Line Infantry painting instructions. Last year I bought the set of Vallejo WWII German cammo paints from mission models and use them now. They do not include any patterns or painting instructions however.
There is a great book, which is upstairs in the bedroom where my wife is sleeping (read as bad idea to go look for now) on WWII SS cammo, that I got at Boarders of all places. It was expensive $70ish, but well worth it.
Have fun and welcome back!
