Photo must be manipulated. We all know that somewhere out there a perfect field grey color exists!!!

Wonderful. Thanks for sharing. That's a good lesson for... you know who! Do you have one with panzer gray? Or at least with dunkelgelb, please? Thanks again. Warm Regards.

For Dunkelgelb, here, all are reported to be dunkelgelb.

Nice references here Kevin, Thanks for posting them. I have run into guys ,specially model airplane guys, that even when shown original stuff with original paint still retort :that's not the right color!"

I saw that uniform pic on a facebook group yesterday, immediately saved it hahaha. That dunklegelb one though? That's impressive, saved it as well. Wish it was in as good of lighting as the first pic, but it's still a great reference.

This is just simply amazing! I think this will kill it for all the paint manufacturers who tried so hard to find that exact right "german 1942 field grey color".
When I saw this picture I remember watching the TV show M*A*S*H and thinking about how different the olive drab is from one piece of garment to another.

Yup! Mixing colours is a tricky job! Even today, with computerized procedures and regulated colour charts (z.B. RAL for our region).
If you see austrian recruits at their oath-taking ceremony (meaning uniforms should be as tidy as possible), you can marvel at the diversity of hues....all of them supposed to be RAL 7013, the official colour of austrian uniforms and vehicles...and that colour is computer-mixed...and we are not at war!!
So we should perhaps be a little less draconic when it comes to colours!
Cheers

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for posting the pic of different types and colors of WH feldbluse, which is self-explicative.
This is very useful reference for all of us interested about German uniforms. Same situation is almost valid for all equipments made during a large time range, several years, in different factories and in different locations, not only within Germany, but also abroad.
For reference, this is what I have in my files about canteen types:
Cheers

Hi! Great research for WWII German Enlisted Mens' and Junior Officers' Grade Field Tunics (Feldrock)!!!
As far as Officers' uniforms go, Company Grade, Field Grade, and General Officers Tunics go, (Tuchrock) there was an even wider range of color and materials, (Generally made of finer materials such as Gaberdine) and were custom-tailored for Staff Duty and/or Full-Dress occasions. Officers were obliged to furnish their own uniforms and accoutrements, such as Peaked Caps, Riding Breeches, shirts, Cuff Titles, etc. Lighter, cheaper materials were also available for tropical service. (See AFRIKA KORPS...) The same goes for the Luftwaffe. Lot's of great reference is to be found out there...
