Does anyone khow the name of the modern (1970s to present) Russian 4 door staff car/ jeep vehicle. I think it is a GAZ something? Any photos, I can't seem to find any. Lastly, does anyone know of a model of it in 1/35th scale?

The only one I know of is the GAZ jeep. Tamiya made a kit of it some years ago I don't know if its still in production. It was more of a jeep than a staff car. It looked a little like the Willy. Its not much but I hope it helped

I picked up a "GAZ Staff Car" at a hobby shop last summer. I comes witht hree figs, and one of the figs is running while pulling a machine gun.
It is pretty simple, and looks like a jeep almost. And it is the Tamiya kit. Old, but you might be able to get it off of ebay, or greatmodels.com

The Tamiya GAZ-67 is an old WW2/Korean War era jeep. A more current ex-Soviet jeep would be the Military Wheels UAZ-469. They make 3 variants, one with a soft top, one with a machine gun and one with a recoilless rifle. They are 2-door only, not sure if it is the most current Russian staff car in use today though.
AER also makes a GAZ-67B, but the quality is nowhere near the Tamiya old GAZ kit.

Here are some options:
AModel makes a 1/35 UAZ-469
MW makes a 1/35 UAZ-469
Trumpeter makes a 1/35 Chinese BJ212 (direct copy of Soviet UAZ-469)
All of these kits run about USD15, with the Trumpeter being an excellent kit (hearsay, I haven't personally seen it)
Hope this helps,
Mika

Thanks to all. it is the UAZ 469 is what I am looking for. Looks like the MW model looks great. The Trumpeter is a two door varient with the back end shaved off, I guess to accomidate the recoiless rifle or just a Chinese mod.

I've looked in the box of the MW UAZ-469, very rough kit, along the lines of a limited run kit. I consider it on the low end of the Eastern European model line.
The Trumpeter BJ212A has just been released with a softtop. I have the one with the recoilless rifle. Superb kit.

Sabot,
Guess I'll see how the MW UAZ-469 is, just got one on Ebay for $16.00. Didn't know the new Trumpeter version was coming out, is it two door still, or the more common four door? It just doesn't look right to me with the chopped back end and only two doors. Also, the front end of the Trumpeter BJ212 does not look the same as the UAZ 469. Trumpeter's looks more rounded. To me, they don't look the same. Not sure which one is correct.

They can both be right, I'm not sure. I know one is based off of the other, but the PLA probably has them built locally. I'm not sure about the body of the soft top BJ212A. I've seen it several times on the shelf, but I was only interested in the RR equipped version. I like minor AT weapons systems.
