I've been running Google searches about this old kit (their original Hummel kit #6004) which I have had on my shelf for about 10 years now.I have found alot of general "it sucks" comments and using scale plans from a copy of Nuts & Bolts devoted to it, the hull looks a bit short. But I can't find any of the usual awesomely detailed posts about how to fix it.
I know there are newer, light-years better kits out, but I don't want all these old DML kits to go to waste so I try to work some scratch building magic on them every now and then to test my skills.
Can anyone give me more specifics on what needs to be fixed?
Thanks,
Dave

If that's the very old one that I used to have, then just toss it and save parts for spares. The gun mount was too high, the front shield didn't mate to the side armor plates, and the side armor plates were the wrong size and shape. It will still go together, but it won't look pretty! If you insist on building it, be prepared to rebuild from the fenders up - inside and out; and be prepared for a lot of .

Use Panzer tracts documents. Either that or use the old kit as a "destroyed" unit in a dio.
