I am looking for any pictures of this troop carrier so that I can scratch built it. I belive it was developed in the early 1944 to carry 24 troops, it was cancelled when the war was over. It was based on the M26 Pershing parts or chassis with a new superstructure. It later became know as the M44 Troop and Cargo Carrier. I think it was tested in the early stages of the Korean war and found to be to big.
Many Thanks
Ralph

Mech - are you sure it is the T16 as that was the American produced version of the British Universal Carrier.

Hunnicutt Bradley book covers the M44/T16 armored utility vehicle on pages 30-37 with photos of the interior and all around photos of the actual prototype.

It used the M18 Hellcat's power train but the Pershing's suspension. Definitely not related to the universal carrier.

Hi Sabot
do you have the Hunnicutt Bradley book that covers the M44/T16 armored utility vehicle on pages 30-37 with photos of the interior and all around photos of the actual prototype.
I would like to get copies of these pages, if it is possible. I have been looking for a long time.
Cheers
Ralph
