Hi all. I'm busy with a scene from D-Day in which a 'tobruk' is being captured. I'd like the tobruk to house an MG42,(or failing that, a mortar) but cant find how an MG42 was mounted in a tobruk in normandy?

If anyone has any diagrams or photos i would really appreciate it!

Hi!

good old google - look here:

being mounts for a mg 34, i think the mounts for a mg 42 would have been similar...

regards
arne

One of the best sources for this sort of thing is the Axis History forum. They covered this subject in a thread:

Hard to find two the same. Does the ring mount revolve? Or is it fixed with a limited arc of fire for the MG?
