Hi LWF, as we all know tanks are best fielded in wide open terrain / fields. One AFV that did have advantages in Stalingrad was the StuG. ...... respectively the StuG Ausf B, for infantry fire support.

Another one that is very representative of Stalngrad would also be the SiG 33. That'd be real Stalingrad related, since a whole company of them met their ends there.

Not up on the German side of Stalingrad, bit remember the seige began in 1942. The more common tank for the Soviets would have been the T-34/ 76 1942 variant with the single hatch on the turret. The T-34/ 76 1943 variant with dual hatches and no commander's cupola would not have come along until after the seige ended.

LWF, No Tamiya doesn't have a kit of the STUG B or SIG. DML has beautiful renditions of both kits though. They just did a retool of the SIG 33 over the summer as well. HTH STUG

as stugiiif say Dragon do both the stug b and sig and both are easy to pick up also dont forget some of the smaller german armoured cars that tamiya have pushed back out, quite quick to build up, Also Maquette also do a stalingard model T-34 which were built in the city and were driven straight off the production line on to the front line, the paint if any was applied was still wet and due to the urgency of the situation many were fitted without gun-sights they aimed by looking down the gun breech, I'd suggest picking up antony beevors excellent book on stalingard should give you plenty ideas for dios and includes chapters of what also happened out in the steps outside stalingrad
