Does anyone know what this thing is that are standing on the ground and are connected to the computer?

I have also seen in an article in AFV magazine about US mraps in afghanistan and it looks there like a similiar thing are used on the roof of an EOD Cougar mrap...

Does anyone have any idea what this can be? Or a better photo of it?

I believe Roger is asking about the object connected to the control box. Perhaps it is an antenna booster to give the EOD robot extended range?

I guess it could just be a radio frequency antenna, like this differently shaped one :

Yes Jason, that's the thing i mean....
Yes maybe it can be a signal booster or antenna or something , but it's strange as i have also a photo from afv modeller magazine and there it's a Eod Cougar mrap that have this thing on the roof in front of weapon turret....
And there they don't have the Taloon control box or if it's is for if they sit in the veichle then and control the robot from inside the veichle...

Maybe we have a former EOD soldier here that knows what it can be...

Watch the show Bomb Patrol Afghanistan. They are very often using Talon robot while sitting inside the JERRV. So the antenna on top of the truck would make plenty of sense.

It is probably the antenna for the robot control unit. I have herd of frequency jammers being used so cell phone detonator signals are blocked. Just another alternative.
