Guys,
I have been working on my Canadian Lav III off and on for awhile and I am building the gun at the moment. I was wondering about the gun mantlet, and how it installs? It seems a rather sloppy fit with the kit. Is it supposed to be? Also, there doesn't seem to be anything to cover the top portion of the gun and seem kind of open, as does the bottom. Any help would be appreciated.

On the actual thing, you get a canvas cover which hides the gap.
You can model this with some putty but your gun will be definitely fixed.

Trying to find one of the bottom; it's the same on Coyotes too.

Best of luck on the LAV.
