Heya, Folks,
Currently working on the Masterpiece Models ASPB "Alpha Boat" in 1/35th scale.
I want to dress it up and give it a little personality with a few extra details, but not overdo it in that "old school" stuff-piled-everywhere-so-you-can't-walk-or-fight Verlinden way, which of course was awesome in it's day!
As such, I am kicking around ideas and was thinking of adding a bucket, some ammo cans, Marmite can and water dispenser, maybe a folding chair (if I still have the latter in an unbuilt Tamiya M577...) and a few of the bits noted below:
Also wanted to hang a tropical coat and pair of fatigue trousers, a toilet seat, coffee cup, and lay out an empty flak jacket on the engine cover and lean a mop against the bulkhead,
Any idea if anyone makes Vietnam flak jackets and fatigues (and any of the other bits mentioned above)? Might be nice to see Bob B. tackling a few of these in the future given his regard for Vietnam War subjects.
May even try running some lead foil to emboss over a figure with a flak jacket and fatigues, flatten it out and see what happens...
Thanks, as always, folks!
With Regards and Aloha,
Johnny B.

Verlinden's US Military Vehicle Stowage Vietnam #1585 has pretty much everything you are looking for.

Hey Johnny B.
In addition to the set Gino mentioned, D-Toys has a Vietnam accessory set, DT35-043, with flak vests and shirts (packs, boots and headgear too). Haven't picked it up myself but the (small) photos I've seen look pretty good.

Hey Johnny,
I needed a jacket for the driver in my British SAS dio and made one from facial tissue. It's on his back seat.
A bit of a pain ,but not very hard.Just form it all while the watered down white glue is still setting. For sleeves make a small roll of it and attach.Good for clothing hanging.

Get the D-Toys set of Vietnam Accessories...has seperate jungle fatigue shirts and flak jackets in two styles. The best part of the flak jackets are they give you a front and back, which allows it to be "hung" over a chair, seat, or hatch! VERY useful set.

Lucky Models carries D Toys' products...that particular set is out of stock.
Also, check eBay...D Toys sets are often listed there including the Vietnam War US Infantry Equipment Set.

Here is a link to the D-Toys Vietnam set announced on Armorama.
The link to the company site doesn't seem to be working.

Thanks a bunch, Gents!!!
Given the short time frame that I have to finish the ASPB for a contest (and motivate my kid to get his projects finished as well), the DToys set is the way I am going to go for the flak jackets and fatigues.
Lucky was indeed out so I ordered a set on ebay and should be able to cobble together some of the other bits from the spares box.
Still got my fingers crossed that Vladi will sculpt PBR & Riverine crews in combat posses sometime soon.
Thanks again, my friends!!!
With Regards and Aloha,
Johnny B.

If I have the time, I may just try to scratchbuild the seat... But just in case, I am going to look up who cares Plus Model here in the U.S.
Thanks, again --- much appreciated!
