I wish they'd consider offering the Mantlet cover and Xenon search light as an add on kit for those of us with the M48A3 Mod b

Now that is interesting - a flat deck "Elvis" M48.

I might even get one of those.

Would it take much work to convert it to a plain M48 (early non-a type)?

I'm going to need to see this in person before I dive on this hand grenade... That DML CAD looks to have a few too many M103A1 bits in it.

Nice Elvis Tank James

Look at the photo of that built up model and then at the CAD. The tension idler is missing. But plenty of time for them to put it in. This is probably a preliminary render of a preliminary render and nothing to go by. Gonna save the money for this one.

Interesting. I always thought the M103 had too many M48 parts in it.

PLA - LEEZE, somebody aftermarket, do the M8 dozer kit!
Gosh, Napoleon!
And, this is a perfect IDF M48 for the Six Day War, warts or no warts. I think I have a couple of Monogram kits somewhere to compare engine decks and rear hulls with.....

Does anyone make those jettisonable fuel tanks in a 1/35 set? It would be perfect for this M48A1 or even the M103A1 since they both suffered from limited range. I'd really like to see that.

I had built a few nice models for customers back in the day using those old Monogram kits with Tamiya details. With the release of the new Revell kit I just gave two of them away to Nephews for Christmas. Not the best kits as we know, but it'll hopefully get them in the hobby.

You'd need the original flat cupola (the Israeli Urdan cupola is derived from the original type, so you might be able to adapt one). The driver's hatch was smaller and less symmetrical, so you'd need to scratch build a new one and reshape the opening in the hull to match.

Thank you for the details. I searched a little and found that an aftermarket company called Slingshot Models actually have the early cupola for sale, so this could be an option too.
