Has anyone ever been to the armed forces museum in largo Florida? They have what they are calling an m4a1 Sherman. It has an early hull, a t23(?) Turret and an unusual commander's coupla. NOT a normal sherman. does anyone know what it actually is?

It was cobbled together. The hull appears to be from an M32B3 with the various brackets removed and the glacis rebuilt.

What was the coupla taken from? It is flatter and longer than the ones from an m48, and the commander's hatch pivots rather than hinges backwards. I was proud of my 15yr old who had wandered ahead of me today when he excitedly came back telling me that the sherman was WRONG.

I believe it is from an APC, M59 maybe.

Yes, an M113 it's not. An M75, it is.

I think the cupola was an Aircraft Armaments model 108 cupola with a 30cal browning in it. Were these cupolas used on any operational vehicles? I've only seen them on mounted on experimental vehicles.
