Been a few years back since I built a dio of a tunnel complex. But with the tunnel rat figures from Bravo 6 I was inspired to give it another go. My plan is to put in a display case with a mirrored back to show the VC making one last stand before scurrying away down the tunnel. I plan on showing the interior of the hut but not sure how to potray it. Want to show the area over the tunnel interance ransacked. If anyone can help me with what would be in the hut that would help me out. If I can figure out how to upload pics from I-pad I will post some progress.

Hi Keenan, I was fortunate enough to visit and crawl through some of the vast cu chi tunnels two years ago. Such a complicated but sophisticated underground complex. Some of the hiding spots were only 30cm x 30cm...I struggled to get in some of them. Your dio looks like its going to tell quite a story.looking great. Will be following this one.

Fascinating topic. Your dio will undoubtedly make me feel very claustrophobic!

Still have a ways to go Im glad everyone is interested. I just cant find any pictures of the interior of Vietnamese pheasant hut. Im sure some had make shift beds and some probably just slept on the ground on thatch with some sort of woven mat. Thanks for looking.

If you can't find any photos of the huts, maybe look at documentaries of the Vietnam War. I saw a recent series from the Discovery Channel and there were clips of US troops searching villages. Some of the shots were from inside the hooches.

Hey Keenan,

I have some pictures that show the insides of some huts in the southern III Corps and IV Corps areas that I can email you. PM me and I will email them to you.

Your diorama is quite an undertaking with it being both above and below ground, but you are off to a great start. I look forward to following this build. I am primarily a Vietnam subject matter modeler, so Vietnam projects always interest me.

I'm at Fort Sill, where in Oklahoma are you at?

Cheers,
James

A little more progress. I plan on a couple more Vietnamese civilians being interrogated. Don't know if you can tell the figure closest to the vegetation will be a prisoner blind folded hands tide be hind his back. Trying to find some suitable GI's probably 3 more and an Arvin interpreter. Any ideas on this will help but I'm sure their will be some converting going on. One more thing would the fire and the apparatus for hanging the pot be typical.

Keenan,
I've never had any success trying to post pics from an iPad; I always do it from the PC. I usually take the photos on my phone and send them to the PC via Googledrive.

Hi Keenan, I really hope you get things sorted-out so you can get back to building. I would really like to see your creation go forward. Good luck!

Check your Inbox; I sent you a PM.
