Nice review ! Shame about the tracks, I do wish they'd even go to link and length, band tracks usually let down otherwise decent kits. And the sponsons are typical Tamiya. Still I'd love to pick up one of these at some stage ...

Unfortunately, this kit's issues are not only with the tracks. Front fenders are totally wrong, turret was not only incorrect in many of the details, but also was never casted as roughly as Tamiya assumed
, transmission and engine cover plate also needs "severe" corrections. Road wheels and drive sprocket are not accurate too.
So, this might look like as easy weekend project - but definitely it is NOT (and will require a lot of extra efforts) if you'd like to build a true replica of an early JS-3.

I did the JS-2 , good kits. A nice break from Dragon.

built it a year ago, nice kit. eduard PE is must have. a big deffect of the kit in my opinion is the empty space between the upper hull sides and lower hull sides, right above the tracks, i had to scratch build it, else it would just look stupid. i was like wtf, are they serious?
