Ok so I switched up and am going to start a tamiya 1/48th scale m4 Sherman. Gonna make a diorama. Regardless I am hand brushing with brushes and am wanting to give the tanks I am doing a battle worn look with mud rust etc but am not sure how to achieve the awesome looks I've seen elsewhere any advice for me

Wouldn't be a lot of rust on a Sherman generally, they didn't last that long.
Mud,dust and so forth could be achieved by pigments and washes.AK,Mig and True Earth make products.
Many modelers mix their own stuff.
