Oil over enamel or acrylic?

I bought a jar of matt picture varnish - the bottle says its oil-based, and I'm wondering if it's safe to spray over enamels and/or acrylics.

most enamels are oil based so it should be OK over them and acrylics as long as the paint it is going over is totally dry.
