After you've glossed the model and added your decals, use a dark brown, burnt umber or van dyke brown. Mix this with a lot of thinner, at least 90% thinner. Take a fine brush and place a little bit at all raised detatil and in panel lines. Capil;arty actio will draw the paint along the edges giving a shadow effect. DO NOT slather this over the whole model. Make a similar mixture with black for the grills and slop it in there. You'll now have a nicely shaded model. Drybrush over the high spots and raised detail with the base color and a lightened base color. Find some chalk pastels to match the terrain you depicting and scrub this on the wheels and lower hull fading as you go up the tank.
