Question: is it safe to assume that the full sized truck that the overhead I beam that the hoist hangs from can be adjusted fore and aft as needed? Seems useless to have the hoist hanging over the cab unless it is to pull the vehicle's own engine.

The next question would be can the placement of this I beam be repositioned on the model?

Thanks Tom!

@Michael : Yes, the jib can slide in the reality and it's possible to put the jib like you want in this model.

The beam is designed to be moved, there is a "rail" just behind the front bulkhead. the tapered shape and pins that extend from the front of the beam locate in the rails (housing). The beam is then set at an angle, pointing upwards to the rear.....similar to a crane.
The hoops front and rear have special brackets to secure the beam.

I made the master for this, so have info and photo's. Luke made the original master for the chassis, Graham at Resicast made the tilt assembly, as I originally made this to show the internals.

You can email me at georgemoore66@hotmail followed by .co.uk, if you need any more.

I forgot to add......the 7 1/2 ton trailer made by Resicast and mastered by me is a great addition to this kit.....

Sorry to blow my own trumpet.....but the trailer was originally made to accompany this kit.....the Gantry truck took a lot longer to complete than was originally anticipated.

George.

Thanks Georges for the clarification!

The start of the paint :

The whole painting is done with "Zenithal effect".

I used for the first time the "panzer putty". It's a great product! i'm convinced!!!

"Dark green" for the base.

The canvas are painted with a mix of pale green, yellow, khaki and dark green to have a different colour than truck's body.
