Hi all,

I have got a SINCGARS radio set at home for my HUMVEE M1025. The instructions sheet shows the various compnents and wiring diagrams. In this sheet a control monitor is shown but I can't find it in anu of the pictures I have. Can anyone tell me if it is used and if so where should I place it ??

Thanks in advance,
Marc

For the front you should have a 6 or 8 digit key pad (this should look like the numbers on your keyboard). The keys were med to light grey, with the numbers being white( They were really transparent white to let the light under them to show through). The wirering is pretty straight forward, you'll need something to simulate the wire for the antenna (around 1/2" in real life). All the other wires (power and link wires for other radios {you can hook up to three} are all around 1/4"). The SINGARS is a self contained unit, so all the wires will come in and go out the back of the unit. I would use a peice of thin soldering wire for the coiled wire going from the radio to the hand set.

Hello Marc,
You don't have to use the monitor/controller with the SINGARS if you don't want to. But, if you do they can be mounted in various locations. I had one mounted on a sheetmetal "L" shaped bracket that was bolted to my windshield frame. Kept it out of the way and always visible. If you have the Pro Art set they show accurate a wiring schematic.

Control moniter is no longer used on modern SINCGARS. I have never seen it used in with SINCGARS in my 10 years using them in the active Army.
