I felt the same type of pain when making mine. Getting the letters to "arc" properly was a real painnnnnn

Not to take away from the great looking build, but the more I look at pics of Tamiya Mutts vis a vis pics of the real vehicle the more it appears that the rear springs on Tamiya/Academy Mutts have collapsed. Personally, the effect is compounded when the rear is void of weight IMHO.

Yes, this is a known issue with the Tamiya kit (and Academy's copies). To fix it, you can put an 0.020 spacer between the spring and the underside of the body. It looks fine once the spacer is added.

Heya, Sherb,

Fingers-crossed that some real live Spring weather is just around the corner, amigo!

By the way, while I don't own it, I was checking out the Master Box "Patrolling" figure set and these would be perfect to place on the other side of the wire/gate if you go that route in your "Sin City" diorama. The grunts look like they could be embarking on or departing from a patrol past the gate.

Keep it going, Sherb --- can't wait ta see more!

With Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

Here are a couple shots of what is included. There were some ammo boxes that I pulled out of the set and used elsewhere.

The sandbags for the dash and rear bed are designed specifically for the Academy kits.

Not pictured here is the PE fret I showed earlier in the thread, a length of chain, some lead foil and a smaller PE fret with some parts for the .50 cal.
