Finished this build this weekend. Been a while since I did a winter scheme so I wanted to brush up on it.
Thanks for looking.

Nice winter weathering job! Did you scratch-build the canvas covers? I like the slit on the driver’s-side canvas window a lot. More info., please … aftermarket parts, scratch-build work, etc.

Mike, thanks for the comments.
All if the canvas parts were scratch built from 2 part epoxy. The doors are currently offered by Tank Workshop. The tilt top and sides curtains will be available very soon as well. This model has pre production parts on it.
Otherwise the half track is otb. The only real deviation from kit instructions was the angle of the windshield. Dragon would have you set it vertically but out of the hundred or so reference pictures I gathered to build the tarps, not a single one showed the windshield vertical. The tilt was made to work with a slight angle to the windshield.
Thanks again,
KC

Excellent work on the canvas parts and the paint & overall finish is super! This track has Eastern Front written all over it.

Terrific, what are the canvas door covers made from? Lead foil or caulk-soaked tissue?

Rolled epoxy putty. Wrinkles are sculpted on afterwards.

Great stuff Kenneth ... Love it , and really changes the look of the kit ... Will you also do a folded tarp for Tank Workshop?? I've always found it strange that Dragon never put one in their kits.

It is a possibility, yes. I don't know exactly when though. I have some other projects going for them right now.
It is unfortunate that companies rarely include the canvas parts especially given current technology.

Very nice! What color did you use as the base color for your canvas?

Thanks a lot guys. The basic color is Vallejo grey green I think. I used several colors in that family for the basic colors. I wanted more contrast between pieces but it eventually got lost. Next time I'll do more color shifts. The shading was done largely with oils mixed to match the base colors. Dust and dirt was a combo of enamel products and pigments. The canvas was a challenging paint job. The resins tarp has a lot of surface detail though, which makes it easier.

John, I am working on a small vignette with a couple of figures. I never intended to put this much work into the paint job and all. It was supposed to be a demo model for Tank Workshop but i've grown fond of the project now that the sculpting is all done..
