Hello Everybody,
I am currently looking for some figures in 1/35 to depict british soldiers in the Falklands War. I know about the Blockdog sets yet. Is there anything available by other manufacturers? Is the Dragon 3023 SBS with Kayaks suitable for the Falklands? Any hints, be it injection, resin, garage kits or else will be appreciated, as long as some small chance for availability and a somehow decent quality are given. The only premises I would state are a "non-action" pose, so recon, rest, etc... or at least a ground forces member; no sailors, aircrew, etc...
As I said: any help or suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
Best Regards
Dennis

Kirin did a falklands set. Have a look at accurate armour and firing line as they have some resin figures that should be suitable. Hope this helps.

Accurate armour did Falklands figures i think, definitely 1 with a a gpmg. Also tamiya did a stretcher party that would fit the time. Dont think they were in CEFO though.

Hello Gentlemen,
thanks for the replies. It looks like there isn`t really to much stuff around. I unfortunately feel that both the AA and Firing Line figures are perhaps not up to the highest standarts. Nontheless perhaps one or two will find their way to me to be updated with some Hornet heads etc...
Anyway: thanks for your hints. Is anybody out wwo can give some statements about the Dragon SBS? I still don`t have a clue in which timeframe they would fit in...
Best Regards

Hi Dennis,
The Dragon SBS figures are too late for you to use for the Falklands Period, the chest rigs that the dragon figures are wearing came out in the early to Mid 1990's and I had one which was DPM issued in 1996 for a tour of Bosnia. We still had 58 pattern webbing which was used in the Falklands on issue until 1992. This changed when we got the SA80 rifle issued and we also got the newer pattern DPM nylon webbing.

Friendship models in the UK used to do at least one para from the Falklands time frame, they are listed as unavailable on their website though. May be worth dropping Ian Hanratty an email to see if it may be re-released ?
