Does the Dragon/CH Stug A have the parts to build the Stug B? I can't remember where I read this and want to make sure.

The initial differences between the A and B were internal.
Exterior wise, the A and very early B were the same. Shortly thereafter though, the 40cm tracks were introduced with a bunch of changes to the drive train, including moving the 1st return roller forward and changes to the sprockets. In light of these changes it's doubtful that the A kit could be used to built a true B.

I was hoping to use some of the detail sets for the "B" on the "A". There just isn't much out there.

Well... not quite. The Dragon kit is made a bit more simple. Essential the Dragon A is the B with an extra bits and a figure. You could still build the "Dragon B" with it. Neither of those is a good replica of any of the originals.

My advice: If you want a B go for the Tamiya kit. Otherwise check http://stug.ch/ for more refernce... and let the madness beginnn....

Actually, Matt, I remenber who asked the same question a few moths ago...

Now, I am quite confused. Is the A really a B?

Fabian: Thank you for the link. I am still looking at kit bashing. Just gifted the A.

Sauertieg: Thank you for the book recomendation.

I guess all this means you can't believe the Squadron/Signal books as that's where I picked up the info I originally posted.

Sorry Matt.

Why DML does not release a new tooled short gunned Stug is beyond me.

Because it's not a Guardians of the Galaxy vehicle?

No worries, Bob. I'll buy the book. Looks like the A will be a personal build.
