ww2 winter clothing?

Hi I am going to paint my german para`s parka`s white. What`sthe best way to do this because I was told not to paint thom just white. Need help pls.

Hi Pat,

Welcome to Armorama! You might get more suggestions if you post this on the Figures forum. I don't do figures anymore, but I would suggest the easiest way first - paint them white and follow with a thin wash of Payne's Grey oils. Check the Features section here, too, for an article on Figure painting. There are certainly more advanced and effective options.

What color is dirt? These uniforms were worn continuously for months without washing, and they turned dingy, brownish gray, particularly areas that contacted the ground regularly. The situation got so bad that white cotton smocks were sometimes issued to wear over them because the uniforms were no longer suitable as snow camouflage.
