While assembling a rather small vehicle with headlamps mounted on thin stalks off the fenders, I realize that there is no really safe way to try and access the headlamps to drill out the housings to replace the solid resin lamps.

What is an effective, realistic method for painting solid headlamps, to avoid the stark all-white or silver look?
