Very sad news, his work and eye for detail was incredible. I'm sure he is in a far better place and at peace. Rest easy Romain, you've earned it.

Paul and others: do you feel a feature of his last great unfinished work would be a suitable epitaph? If so I will get it sorted for you all as soon as I can.
wholeheartedly concur!!!

So sad to lose a good friend. I will miss him so much.

Hard to believe we won't see his comments and constructive criticism any more- he was always there to lend his fine skills as a modeler to help others improve and to encourage them to keep at a build. Using the stunning diorama he was lately working on as a Feature would be a very nice tribute.
He will be missed but his friends here will surely remember him. Rest in peace Romain.

Really sorry to hear this sad news. Like many I knew Romain only from the connection with this site.
He always had something useful and helpful to say. I will miss his critique, personality and excellent work
My condolences to his family and friends.

A real shame. He always seemed like a nice bloke and I enjoyed looking at his work. Maybe a thread of his finished work as a tribute?

I too have had contact with him very recently and he was an optimist to the end.
He will leave a huge gap here.
May he find his peace and may his family find strength in these trying times.

I was hoping, by some miracle, this day wouldn't come.
We began with a PM to him asking why he seemed so critical on posts. He was very nice and told me his background. From there we became pen pals.As things and PM's went on we became diorama friends.
On our last message he told me he was very weak and wanted to finish the last dio,but wasn't sure if he would make it.
He said his partner ,Leo.would not probably do any posts on his buildings because of his lack of English. So if anyone can speak to him,I think it would be good.
A very sad day for me for someone I have never been able to meet in person.
One small note, before I knew he had cancer.I added on a post that I had lost some vision in one eye.His reply was that is the least of things that may come.
RIP ROMAIN.Will miss you.

Romain's passing is a very sad event in the modeling world. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. He will surely be missed by more people than he probably would have imagined. His positive and encouraging comments to other modelers, his sharing of his techniques, and him being a great guy overall will be how he is remembered.
I agree that a feature of the project he had been working on would be a great tribute to his memory.
God Bless You, Brother!
James

Romain will be missed. It's often hard to get to know people on e-forums but he took time out to to comment on my work as opposed to just looking and moving on as most of us do and as such helped motivate me to keep posting. A gentleman and positive influence who will definitely be missed ....
Condolences and thoughts to his family and friends.

Very sad news indeed, but I am sure Romain is at peace now and in a better place. Still watching over our modeling projects. The world has lost a wonderful person, and a great modeler, those of us who new him, and were in contact with him lost a dear friend. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Rest in Peace my Dear Friend.
