Frenchy, neither do I.
I think this is the same robotic arm used on RG-33. Great photo. This vehicle has been used in Afghanistan or it is a old photo from Iraq?
Thanks to share this photo

That's not technically a Cougar. It's an ILAV(Iraqi Light Armored Vehicle). The robotic arm is able to be fitted to most MRAP's so they can check IED's if they don't have a Buffalo MRAP in convoy.

There's a photo of such MRAP her:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_(mine_protected_vehicle)
That is a Buffalo, this is a Cougar ILAV with a robotic arm attached. Two different vehicles.

In the Tankograd M939 truck book, there's a picture of an M939 with a Buffalo-like body and that same arm; it's used to train folks in how to use it while freeing up Buffalos for actual duty.

If you look closely the arms are really not the same. Maybe in appearance but the one on the buffalo is more heavy duty, with a different claw end. The one here is one that is smaller and lighter. Meant to be added onto other MRAP's. The ILAV here is the Route Clearance version.
